Kelli breaks down ways we can have a simple conversation to get to know a person beyond our stereotype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scripture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then He said to His disciples,\u00a0\u201cThe harvest\u00a0is plentiful but the workers are few.<\/p>\n<cite><em>Matthew 9:37<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The guy at the yogurt shop had a very long and straggly goatee and an abundance of tattoos.&nbsp; He wasn\u2019t your normal \u201call-American kid\u201d.&nbsp; But that didn\u2019t stop Jaw-knee-Polk from talking to him. Johnny asked him about his tattoos and what advice he would give kids about tattoos.&nbsp; It led to a great conversation about the cross tattoo he had and much more.&nbsp; As they were departing, the young guy looked at Johnny and said, \u201cThanks for talking to me.&nbsp; Not many people will even give me the time of day.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In that moment, Johnny chose to be a \u201cworker\u201d \u2026 to harvest someone that didn\u2019t look \u201cnormal\u201d.&nbsp; Non-Christians can look as different as this guy or as \u201cnormal\u201d as your very own mom.&nbsp; And they all have one thing in common \u2026 an opportunity to be known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ask their name.<\/strong>\u00a0 Whether it is the clerk at the store, your next door neighbor or the homeless guy on the street, everyone has a name.\u00a0 There is a simple honor you can give someone by knowing and using their name.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ask their story.<\/strong>\u00a0 What does that tattoo mean to you?\u00a0 Where did you move here from?\u00a0 Tell me about your family?\u00a0 What led you to be Muslim?\u00a0 When did you decide to live a homosexual lifestyle?\u00a0 The questions can be easy or uncomfortable.\u00a0 But, when you ask someone about them \u2026 they feel important and you can get to know them in a way that helps you know how to befriend them better and ultimately share Christ with them.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ask what you can do next.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 If this new found non-Christian friend is in need, ask them how you can serve them.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t see an immediate need, ask the Lord how you can be their friend or serve them.\u00a0 He is really creative in the \u201cwhat nexts\u201d!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a natural feeling to shy away from those not like us \u2026 in this case, those that don\u2019t know the Lord.&nbsp; However, it is a great feeling when we don\u2019t shy away from knowing them.&nbsp; Our lives are richer when we reach out \u2026 and their lives are too as they are introduced to Jesus through YOU!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camper Corner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who is in your life that doesn\u2019t know Jesus?\u00a0 Mentally walk through your day and your town \u2026 you\u2019ll be amazed at how many folks we need to get to know better.\u00a0 Take time to write down FIVE people not following Jesus and think of a question you can ask each of them to get to know them better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ever been scared to talk to someone who you are certain doesn\u2019t follow Jesus, or certainly doesn\u2019t \u201clook like\u201d they follow him?
