How can we trust God when they happen? Cole guides us in truth to do just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scripture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>For I know the plans I have for you,\u201d declares the Lord, \u201cplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em>Jeremiah 29:11<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Trust in the Lord with all your heart\u00a0and lean not on your own understanding;\u00a0in all your ways submit to him,\u00a0and he will make your paths straight.<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em>Proverbs 3:5-6<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not making the team, the loss of a pet, trouble in relationships, poor test scores, losing a job, death of a loved one\u2026disappointment is a part of our lives in this fallen world.&nbsp; The great news is we have a hope and a future directed by our Lord!&nbsp; That truth doesn\u2019t guarantee it will always be easy, but I love that we can go to our playbook (aka God\u2019s Word, the Bible).&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Faith&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 In Jeremiah we see the Lord has plans for us\u2026we&nbsp;<strong><em>have<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;to trust He has our best in mind.&nbsp; He tells us His plans are to prosper us and for us to have hope and a future.&nbsp; Even when times are tough we must trust in our Lord\u2019s sovereignty and rest in His control!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fellowship<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 God didn\u2019t call us to live this life alone.&nbsp; He tells us He will not ever leave us or forsake us so we can take that to the bank.&nbsp; The other thing He tells us is that we are to gather a team around us who builds us up and helps us through tough times.&nbsp; Check out&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Ecclesiastes+4%3A9-12&amp;version=NIV\">Ecclesiastes 4:9-12<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Forge Ahead<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 What now?&nbsp; How do we move on?&nbsp; One of the things I love to tell my kids when dropping them off for school or as they walk out the door for anything is to, \u201c\u2026be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, for the Lord your God will be with you\u201d.&nbsp; That is how we move on. And the great thing is\u2026we know the Lord goes with us.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God never promised us a bed of roses or that disappointment would not come\u2026actually it\u2019s quite the opposite.&nbsp; He tells us there will be trials and that this world is imperfect\u2026the great news is He goes with us and we can have confidence in that!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camper Corner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What\u2019s tough right now?\u00a0 What\u2019s your latest disappointment?\u00a0 How did you respond?\u00a0 Prepare yourself to react to tough stuff bringing honor and glory to our Lord!\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We all face disappointments in life.
