Johnny sets us up for creating laughable moments within our families\u2026\u2019tis the season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scripture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cA cheerful heart is good like medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em>Proverbs 17:22<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the season we hear and join in singing Christmas songs. \u201cJOY to the World\u201d should and could become our family\u2019s year round treasure of \u201cjoy to our family.\u201d&nbsp; The Hallmark Channel is packed with predictable Christmas story outcomes designed to warm our family\u2019s heart.&nbsp; Let\u2019s not limit our family\u2019s joy and cheer to only the holidays however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Family time can often use some pressure relievers. Let\u2019s be intentional with initiating some laughable moments.&nbsp; Whether being in the car or at the dinner table \u2013 it\u2019s always good to create some family joy such as a little family competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Family fun should be healthy, meaning it is kind, genuine, and uplifting with intentions of uniting the family.&nbsp; However, family fun that is destructive and includes putting others down separates and humiliates \u2013 so don\u2019t even go there. &nbsp;Joking when it is a wonderful highlight of the moment is a memory maker.&nbsp; A good rule of thumb would be to consider, \u201cIs this joking kind? &nbsp;Is it helpful?\u201d If both answers are yes, then go for it!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Family pranks, puzzles, and scavenger hunts<\/strong>&nbsp;are the kind of adventures that build family traditions and are sure to become family highlights to be talked about for years.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A game of Charades, the Blue Gnu<\/strong>&nbsp;(a game of finding a disguised citizen in public who is THE Blue Gnu), Twister, Snort Off (Where you take turns snorting at the person next to you, both of you trying not to laugh. Then continue around the group.), wrestle mania or creating stories from scratch by each family member adding to the story, phrase upon phrase can bring some creativity to the family journey.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Guessing games, such as spontaneous \u2026\u201cHave You Ever\u2026?\u201d<\/strong>, \u201cDid You Know\u2026?\u201d, \u201cWhat Would You do If\u2026?\u201d, \u201cBeing Stranded on an Island\u201d, will keep your family\u2019s dreams open ended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A time ticking, pressure building game, such as \u201cCatch Phrase\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;can ignite some great family tears of laughter.&nbsp; We recently discovered a free phone app called \u201cHeads Up\u201d that has plenty of interesting categories, and is a lot of fun too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, no hum bug this season or upcoming year! Just like Camp\u2019s #1 rule, \u201cDon\u2019t Waste Fun\u201d let\u2019s give the gift of laughter and joy.&nbsp; Now, that\u2019s a wonderful, lasting family legacy that promises to bring plenty of smiles all year long!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camper Corner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Campers, what three, non-electronic family fun games will you bring to the family to help \u201cLet the games begin\u201d this holiday season?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What are some of your best childhood memories?
