Keep reading to see how Seth shows us to make that time valuable\u2026and simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them\u2026And beginning with Moses\u00a0and all the Prophets,\u00a0he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself<\/p>\n<cite>Luke 24:15, 27<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Road trips seem to pit my flesh against the indwelling Spirit every time.&nbsp; For much of my life I even had a theme verse for my aspired driving: 2 Kings 9:20, \u2018The lookout reported, \u201cHe has reached them, but he isn\u2019t coming back either. The driving is like that of Jehu son of Nimshi\u2014he&nbsp;drives like a maniac.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was a man who was concerned about one thing: getting to where I needed to be now, on-time and faster than anyone else. Enter in the Spirit of God by way of my wife. Shortly after marrying I realized I had my priorities all wrong. I had lived more concerned about the destination than the souls traveling with me be it to school, church, or an extended vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How can we make time traveling as a family as valuable as possible?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Drop \u201cthe race\u201d mentality.<\/strong>&nbsp;What\u2019s the point of getting somewhere \u201cfast\u201d or \u201con time\u201d if we are in conflict with the people travelling with us? If we\u2019re on vacation, let\u2019s start the vacation when we leave, not when we arrive. Even when we\u2019re driving around town together we can listen to something.<a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/jen\/Documents\/Family%20Matters\/18-19\/Seth-Traveling%20as%20a%20Family.docx#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>&nbsp;God\u2019s command in Deut 6:7 is not to get where we are going in a timely manner, but to teach our kids \u201cwhen you walk by the way.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Take advantage of a captive audience.<\/strong>&nbsp;Pray in the car. Talk about a family who needs prayer and pray for them at that moment (I always smile at who my toddlers want to pray for). Discuss what God has been teaching each member of the family. Ask good follow up questions. Play games and ask silly questions (\u201cWould you rather eat pizza out of a trash can at a theme park or lick the bottom of your sibling\u2019s foot?\u201d). It doesn\u2019t always have to be \u201csuper spiritual\u201d to build into your family.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God graciously gives us opportunities to connect if only we will capture these opportunities He gives us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camper Corner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you a fan of talking with your parents while riding in the car together?
