I can\u2019t scroll through a social media outlet or open a web browser these days without fearing our country is falling apart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It only takes one Simon Sinek<\/a> video to make us worry we\u2019ve lost all our hardworking values and our cell phones are ruining the way we think. Just read TheSkimm\u2026before long you\u2019ll see what the world sees\u2026BAD, SCARY NEWS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course we know and are comforted that\u00a0we are not of this world<\/a>, that\u00a0we were built for a different kingdom<\/a>\u00a0and that the\u00a0treasures of this world will pass away<\/a>. I love that God made clear that this shouldn\u2019t feel like home. There is ultimate hope in that, but lately I\u2019ve been comforted by a totally different passage\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.<\/p>\nIsaiah 55:8-9<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

You see\u2026when man looks at life circumstances, his instinct is fear \u2013 \u201cPROTECT YOURSELF!\u201d He sees a desperate need to prepare for the worst. This is why the local news is always depressing. Without God, things look pretty grim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But our God sees everything through a completely different, SUPERNATURAL lens! He understands things we don\u2019t. He\u2019s not affected by a sin nature that instinctively panics. He\u2019s omnipotent and sovereign\u2026all powerful and in complete control! He looks at things that we see as tragic and sees opportunity and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe it\u2019s not about the news for you. Maybe you just failed a huge exam or got rejected from an organization you dreamed of joining. In any case, remember this \u2013 God\u2019s thoughts and understanding are so much bigger and better than yours and He\u2019s a GOOD GOD who loves you desperately and wants the very best for you.
