Read on to settle further into that truth today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scripture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid,\u00a0but gives us power, love and self-discipline.<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em>2 Tim 1:7<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I<\/em><em>&nbsp;give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart.&nbsp;<\/em><em>Your works are wonderful\u2014I know that very well. Ps. 139:14 (CEB)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m sure the word, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=enneagram&amp;rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS803US803&amp;oq=Enne&amp;aqs=chrome.0.0j69i60j0j69i57j0l2.1534j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;safe=active&amp;ssui=on\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enneagram<\/a>\u201d has popped up on your feed or in conversations in the past few years; my wife and I kind of obsess over it. Many times as we process our days we inevitably end up at how much of a \u201c1\u201d (perfectionist) she tends to be in our home and its cleanliness, and&nbsp;that my \u201c7\u201d (impulsiveness) is absolutely crushing her poor soul with every wet towel I leave on the bathroom floor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take any personality test online and you can know \u201ceverything\u201d there is to know about yourself\u2026 the good and the bad. Often we tend to put much of our energy into how to fix the bad rather than shifting our focus to who (and Who\u2019s) we are as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What would it look like for us to be assured in ourselves as a creation of God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Learn to accept critiques AND compliments.&nbsp;<\/strong>I don\u2019t know why, but it is hard for me to accept any kind of compliment in front of people. I\u2019ll be the first one to admit a mistake or defer \u201cattaboys\u201d to the team around me, but for whatever reason being encouraged in a job well done is just difficult. It took a gentle reminder from a good friend that humility isn\u2019t immediately complimenting someone after being complimented\u2026it is recognizing something great the Lord is doing in you!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Acknowledge the full truth of who we are.&nbsp;<\/strong>My church has a practice of reciting one simple truth before we hear the message every Sunday morning. The pastor will say,&nbsp;<em>\u201cwe are deeply broken,\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>and we respond,&nbsp;<em>\u201cand deeply loved.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>It isn\u2019t much more complicated than that. Sure, we have our flaws, however those shouldn\u2019t be our focus. We are relentlessly pursued by God, who has a never-abandoning love for us.&nbsp;&nbsp;Psalm 139 (CEB) says, we are&nbsp;<em>marvelously&nbsp;set apart.&nbsp;<\/em>Let\u2019s live as though we are!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In the end,&nbsp;God\u2019s got us.&nbsp;<\/strong>When we read Joshua 1:9, we should be emboldened to great things. God is&nbsp;<strong><em>with<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;us! Whenever we get called to God-sized plans, we tend to find every reason not to dive in head first, often starting with our own shortcomings. God says, \u201c<em>be strong and courageous! Don\u2019t be scared.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>If it ended there, this would just be another motivational speech and not the truth. Our confidence levels are finite, because we are finite beings\u2026so how can we be courageous and not stay frightened when we might be overwhelmed with what\u2019s in front of us?&nbsp;<em>The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.&nbsp;<\/em>There it is. Not only did He create us and set us apart to do great things, but He will also be with us every step of the way.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confidence isn\u2019t just recognizing one part of who we are. It is the acknowledgment of our whole being as God sees fit to create and grow us\u2026created for a purpose \u2013 to glorify God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camper Corner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What might being self-controlled, powerful, and loving all at the same time look like at school?
