At camp we teach our young WOGs the phrase, \u201cWomen of God are loved by God and share that love with others\u201d, which is a fluffy and girlish way of saying, \u201cWomen of God believe Truth and act on it\u201d. Simple enough, right\u2026? Then what makes being, or better yet, raising up a WOG in this world such an endeavor?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cSo when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\nGenesis 3:6<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Reflect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
As women, we are prone to deception, which makes believing Truth and acting on it quite a feat. We see this pattern begin in Genesis 3 with Eve, the mother of all. She was deceived to believe God\u2019s word was not true, and disobeyed it. Just like Eve, we as women, tend to believe lies about God and as a result, sin against Him. So, what does it take to be a WOG, or to believe Truth and walk in it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
- Confess the lies.<\/strong> We must identify the lies we believe and bring them into the light. In Genesis 3:8-13<\/a><\/strong>, God asks questions leading to Eve\u2019s confession of deception. God was not unaware of what Eve had done, but it was important to Him that she<\/strong> identify and confess what lead to her disobedience. We can shepherd our little women in the same way by being attentive to the desires of her heart, and asking questions to help identify and confess the lies she believes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Renew the mind.<\/strong> Once we have brought deception into the light, our minds need renewing of what is true (Romans 12:2<\/a>). God\u2019s Word is Truth and is full of His good and precious promises, which He has granted to us (2 Peter 1:4<\/a>). May we disciple our girls to treasure God\u2019s Word as Truth, hiding it in her heart, writing it on her walls and turning to it when the lies are loud. When we remember who God is, and what He has done, historically, and personally, we believe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Act on Truth.<\/strong> Even in our wrestling to believe God, we are still called to obey His word. Notice Eve did not get off the hook by blaming the serpent for her deception. When we act on lies, we sin, and the consequence of sin is death. God commands our obedience even before we can fully process it through faith. He does this because He loves us and wants His best for us. In the same way, we can train our children to act on truth by requiring their obedience regardless of the lies they might believe. Then, when faith comes, the acting on Truth will be a natural expression of what they believe. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
When we walk as Women of God<\/em>, we walk in utter freedom, loved by God, and sharing that love with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about the last time you wanted something so bad, it caused you to disobey. What were the thoughts that lead to making the wrong choice? Were they true thoughts, or lies? Can you name the lies you believed? God\u2019s enemy wants us to believe lies about God, because when we do, we disobey. But being a WOG is about believing the Truth about God, and obeying Him.
