{"id":1025,"date":"2015-07-03T17:48:33","date_gmt":"2015-07-03T17:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gator3012.temp.domains\/~wearebul\/?p=1025"},"modified":"2023-07-03T17:49:08","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T17:49:08","slug":"two-things-last","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gator3012.temp.domains\/~wearebul\/2015\/07\/03\/two-things-last\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Things Last"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As school cranks up so does the pressure to prioritize grades, social status, jobs, etc. Cole reminds us what remains most important in life no matter the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scripture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.\u00a0For,<\/em> <em>\u201cAll people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall,<\/em><br><em>but the word of the Lord endures forever.\u201d<\/em> <em>And this is the word that was preached to you.<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em>1 Peter 1:23-25<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.<\/em><\/p>\n<cite><em>Matthew 24:35<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reflect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only two things in this world will last forever\u2026people\u2019s souls and God\u2019s Word.&nbsp; Have you ever wondered why camp is a place we long to be?&nbsp; We say camp is all about relationships\u2026because they are the heartbeat of loving God and loving others.&nbsp; How can we have this same mentality at home?&nbsp; Let\u2019s take a look at the nuts and bolts of investing in people\u2019s souls and God\u2019s Word day in and day out.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>God tells us in his word that we are to \u201cspur one another on toward love and good deeds\u201d (Heb. 10:24) and that \u201ciron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another\u201d (Pr. 27:17).&nbsp; We are not called to do this life alone but God allows us to live life together to encourage and uphold one another.&nbsp; Invest your life in others\u2026these investments will last.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the last two verses Peter writing tells us that \u201cthe word of the Lord endures forever\u201d.&nbsp; We can count on God\u2019s Word lasting forever. It is the most useful tool in all the world for growing us in our relationship both with God and each other.&nbsp; The \u201cPlaybook for Life\u201d is right at our fingertips\u2026have you taken advantage of it today?&nbsp; Our physical bodies will fail us, but the Word of the Lord stands forever.&nbsp; We need to study the Bible for direction and guidance.&nbsp; We are even called to \u201chide God\u2019s word in our hearts\u201d (Ps. 119:11) so we will know what is right.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With all the distractions and temptations of the world we have intentionally invest in what will last.&nbsp; Know God\u2019s Word\u2026study it, memorize it, apply it to your life today.&nbsp; Love on people\u2026encourage someone, help someone, take time to truly \u201cknow\u201d someone today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camper Corner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know it seems like this life may last forever\u2026I mean just making it until Christmas seems so far away!\u00a0 But in the big scheme of eternity this life is just a blink of the eye.\u00a0 Today, how can you be intentional to be about the two things that will last forever?\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As school cranks up so does the pressure to prioritize grades, social status, jobs, etc. Cole reminds us what remains most important in life no matter the season.
